ZWISCHEN DEN RÄUMEN / BETWEEN (THE) SPACES
is a video work by Nicole Henning and myself.
Our collaboration explores the connection between past and present through photographic images of two spaces—the kitchen of my late grandmother in Athens, and the staged photographs from 1997 of Nicole’s former bedroom in NYC.
In a playfully improvised process, collaged visual spaces emerge from private photographs, press images, painting, and drawing. The outcome remains open and develops dynamically from the materials and their associative content.
The work was developed for DUO, an exhibition format by the Gleis70 Cooperative.
